Everything you need to know before you travel
Understanding how to reserve your vehicle and what happens after you confirm your booking through our platform.
Select your pickup location, dates, and time on the homepage. Browse available vehicles, compare specifications and terms, then click to reserve. You will pay a booking advance online by card, and the system will send a voucher to your email within minutes. The voucher contains all details including the local supplier's contact information and pickup instructions.
Your voucher lists the vehicle model, pickup and return locations and times, the amount you paid as advance, the remaining balance due at pickup, accepted payment methods for that balance, the local rental company's name and emergency contact, and any additional services you selected such as child seats or cross-border permits. Print it or save it on your phone.
Yes. Enter the driver's details during booking. The person collecting the vehicle must present their own driving licence and any required payment card. The voucher can be sent to any email address you specify.
How the payment process works, what you pay online, and what you settle when you collect the keys.
The booking advance is the portion you pay by card when you confirm your reservation on our website. The amount varies by vehicle and duration. It secures your booking. You pay the remaining balance when you collect the vehicle, using the payment method specified in your voucher for that particular model.
No. Our system accepts only the booking advance online. The balance is paid directly to the local rental company at pickup. This arrangement allows flexibility in payment methods for the remainder, depending on the vehicle.
It depends on the specific vehicle you book. Some accept debit cards and cash, others require a credit card. The accepted methods are shown clearly during booking and stated in your voucher. Check the details for your chosen model before you reserve. More information is available on our payment methods page.
Clarifying the security hold that the local supplier may place on your card and how it relates to coverage terms.
Not always. Many vehicles on our platform do not require a credit card and have no deposit hold. Others may need a credit card for a security authorisation. The requirement is vehicle-specific, not class-specific, and is shown clearly before you book. Select a model that matches the cards you have available.
Choose a vehicle that accepts debit cards. If the model you want requires a credit card for the deposit hold, consider asking your bank to increase your debit card limit temporarily. This can help cover both the balance payment and any authorisation the supplier may place.
No. The deposit is a temporary hold on your card as security. The excess is the maximum you are liable for if the vehicle is damaged, and it remains regardless of whether a deposit is required. These are independent terms. A vehicle with no deposit still has an excess amount stated in the rental agreement.
What you must bring to collect your vehicle and the minimum age requirements that apply across our suppliers.
You need a valid driving licence held for at least one year, your voucher, and a payment card matching the name on the licence. If your licence is from outside the EU, an International Driving Permit is recommended. The rental agreement will be signed at the counter, and the staff will record any existing damage on the vehicle.
Typically 21 years, with the licence held for at least 12 months. Some larger or premium vehicles may require drivers to be 23 or 25. Age requirements are stated during booking for each model. Young driver supplements may apply for those under 25.
Where and when you collect your vehicle, what to check before you drive away, and how to return it correctly.
Pickup locations vary by supplier and city. You may collect from a desk at the airport terminal, a nearby office, or arrange delivery to your hotel. The exact address and instructions are in your voucher. Sofia Airport (SOF) is 10 km east of the city centre via Tsarigradsko Shose boulevard.
Walk around the vehicle with the rental agent. Check that all existing scratches, dents, and marks are noted in the rental agreement. Photograph the bodywork, tyres, and interior. Verify the fuel level and ensure you have the registration documents, insurance certificate, and emergency contact details. Test the lights, wipers, and controls.
Return to the location and time stated in your voucher. Refuel to the same level as pickup, unless you purchased a fuel option. Park in the designated area and meet the agent for a quick inspection. Keep the signed return document and fuel receipt for your records. Out-of-hours return may be possible if arranged in advance.
Rules of the road, speed limits, toll systems, and practical advice for navigating Bulgarian highways and mountain routes.
Yes, for all roads except municipal streets. The vignette is purchased at border crossings and petrol stations, or sometimes included by the rental company. Durations range from short-term to annual. Driving without one results in fines. Ask at pickup whether your vehicle already has a valid sticker.
Urban areas are limited to 50 km/h. Outside built-up zones the limit is 90 km/h. Expressways allow 120 km/h and motorways permit 140 km/h. Traffic drives on the right. Fuel is widely available from Shell, OMV, Lukoil, and Petrol stations. Always carry your licence, rental agreement, and insurance documents.
Cross-border travel to Romania, Greece, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Turkey is often permitted with prior written approval and a cross-border permit. Request this during booking or contact the rental company before departure. Driving outside permitted zones without authorisation voids insurance and may result in penalties.
What happens if your plans shift, how to modify your booking, and the policies governing refunds and amendments.
Changes depend on the supplier's policy and availability. Contact us by email at [email protected] as soon as possible with your voucher number and new requirements. We will check with the local rental company and confirm whether the amendment is possible. Some changes may incur fees or require rebooking.
Cancellation terms vary by vehicle and supplier. Most bookings allow free cancellation up to a certain number of hours before pickup. The exact deadline is stated during booking and in your voucher. Contact us immediately if you need to cancel. Refunds are processed to the original payment card.
Your voucher includes the local rental company's emergency contact. For breakdowns, accidents, or urgent issues, call them directly. For questions about your booking or billing, email us at [email protected]. Our office hours are Monday to Sunday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (GMT+2). We are located at Oborishte, Sofia, Bulgaria.
